Ziwei Doushu
Interpret destiny through star chart and twelve palaces
How do you read a Ziwei Doushu (Purple Star) chart?
Reading a Ziwei Doushu chart follows four steps. First, anchor the twelve earthly-branch palaces from Yin and locate the Life Palace (命宫). Second, using the birth day count and the Five Element Bureau (water 2, wood 3, metal 4, earth 5, fire 6), place the Ziwei star, then distribute the fourteen major stars and auxiliary stars across palaces by the star-placement formulas. Third, mark the Life and Body palaces and the "three sides and four positives" — Life-Movement, Career-Spouse, Wealth-Fortune. Fourth, derive the four transformations (wealth, power, learning, obstacle) and judge fortune by star dignity and their clashes. The system favors star combinations and palace interaction over stems. It descends from 《紫微斗数全书》 and requires true solar time correction.
